The professional division is for those students wanting training to prepare for either a college major in dance and/or a professional dance career. Placement within the Professional division is at the discretion of the Academy Director. Professional division students may apply for additional private instruction to prepare for ballet competitions and may also apply for student assistant teaching positions with the Manassas Ballet Academy.

All Professional Division students must be enrolled in Character and Yoga classes. Minimum ballet class requirements per week for the Professional Division students are as follows:

Ballet III : Three
Ballet IV : Four
Ballet V : Five
Ballet VI: Five
Ballet VII :  Six
Ballet VIII : Six

(These are only the minimum required, more are offered.)

Professional Division students will take one graded exam. Exams are used to give feedback to the students on their progress, strengths and weaknesses. Exams are also used to help determine the students’ placement for the next semester.

Exam time will be announced.
 

Interest in the Professional Division should be discussed with the Academy Director.
