About Manassas Ballet Academy

Since 1975, the Manassas Ballet Academy (formerly Manassas School of Dance) has been serving Manassas, Prince William county and Northern Virginia.  As the premier dance studio in the area we attract serious dance students from as far away as Charlottesville, Fredericksburg and Front Royal.  In August, 2007 the School became a part of Manassas Ballet Theatre.  The Academy provides MBT with a formal training ground for aspiring student dancers while increasing awareness and outreach within the community.  The Academy teaches classes in Ballet, Pointe, Boys Classes, Pas De Deax , Character, Jazz, Modern, Tap and Yoga.  Our classes are either one hour or 90 - minutes in length.  Our students range from age 3 to over 60!

It is the mission of the Academy to:

Teach Dance in an enjoyable and disciplined environment.

Provide serious dance students with the very best in pre-professional training.

At the Academy younger students are introduced to dance in classes that emphasize creativity and the improvement of motor skills.  In addition, these classes give the student a structured learning experience.

At age five, students begin training in the different forms of dance such as Ballet, Jazz and Tap.  As students mature, they have the opportunity to enter a pre-professional program.

Our ballet instruction is based on the Vaganova (Russian) Technique and is taught by experienced professional dancers who have danced with professional companies around the world.
